One of EMG's most popular pickups, the 81 is undoubtedly the model that started the revolution. With its powerful ceramic magnets and narrow-aperture coils, the EMG 81 delivers an intense tone with powerful highs and smooth sustain. Traditionally used in the bridge position, this humbucker will make your leads sound imposing, even through the densest mixes. Used in either the bridge or neck position, its tone is biting.

We recommend pairing it with the 85 or 60 pickup for an incredibly versatile setup.

With EMG's solderless mounting technology, you no longer need to know how to use a soldering iron to install your pickups. It's easy to do, even at home!
