EMG Signature Set – Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker – Spectrum Metal

Standard version

Kirk Hammett has been crafting Metallica's solos for over 30 years. The riffs from Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, and the Black Album are essential passages for any rock guitarist. For Kirk, it all starts with EMG pickups. “Metallica's crunch tone is often cleaner than people imagine,” Kirk explains. “My tastes in tone have evolved considerably. Today, I no longer like using as much distortion—I prefer a well-defined, cutting tone.”

The Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker set is the result of this pursuit: recapturing the success of the Metallica sound while injecting it with new elements, without ever sacrificing gain for clarity, or vice versa. By making slight adjustments to the preamp and combining Alnico 5 and ceramic magnets, we created the perfect sonic monster.

The Bone Breaker set consists of the BB-B bridge pickup (Ceramic) and the BB-N neck pickup (Alnico 5). Whether you're looking for a lead or rhythm tone, the Kirk Hammett Bone Breaker set delivers cutting, devastating solos or smooth, full rhythm tones with a simple flick of the pickup selector.
